Should we restrict 1st amendment rights because of cyber bullying? According to the CDC figures for leading causes of deaths for those age 10-24, suicides number 4,867 while homicides number 4,828.  Furthermore, according to bullyingstatistics.org

  • Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University
  • A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
  • According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying
  • Cyber bullying leads to thoughts of suicide more than traditional bullying
  • 42% of youth report being bullied online.

Isn’t it interesting (and hypocritical) that the liberal media, that represents itself as the champion of underdogs, says nothing about the need to restrict 1st amendment rights in highly published cases of online and text bullying, but rushes to urge restrictions on the 2nd amendment at the first report of a firearm involved in anything?!
